"The rogation of the Ninevites" tells about the mission of the prophet Jonah, who was sent to Nineveh by God to communicate with the local residents as they wallowed in sin and fornication. Ninevites heard the preaching of Jonah, listened to his speeches and during the forty days all people of the city from young to old, kept the strictest fast. This tradition is kept and much respected up to this day in the churches of east. The parishioners of Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church in Tbilisi annually keep the strictest fast for three days conducting church ceremony and praying in memory of Ninevites rogation which is for us the symbol of repentance and obedience.
