10.02.2019 / article / #church-school#events

Our Church is a multifunctional building that functions as a center of religion and culture. The lessons in various subjects aimed at education, consolidation and development of the community are carried out here.

Each Sunday starts with the lessons in modern Aramaic language. There are 3 groups in language learning. The students of Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae Sunday school are parishioners of different ages from Tbilisi, Gardabani and the village of Dzveli Kanda.

Big attention is paid to teaching of modern Aramaic language on which parts of Old and New Testaments are written and the language on which Jesus Christ preached. Knowledge of the language is necessary for introduction to the Rite of the Liturgy as Divine Liturgy is served in Aramaic Language.

During the choir lessons, Liturgy of the Chaldean Rite, which is totally sung, is taught as well as ancient chants dated back to 3rd -4th centuries. After the Divine Liturgy all people go to banquet hall of the church where, while tea drinking, people continue their communication in a friendly environment. They share their experiences, worries and get to know each other better.

As we have already mentioned, there are cultural programs besides religious ones in our church. Choreography lessons begin after tea drinking. Children and young generation are introduced to Georgian dancing Art and also learn choreographic performances which include national folklore.
