HUMANITARIAN ACTIVITY

Hard economical conditions in which all the citizens of Georgia were in 90s, have become the precondition of the humanitarian activities started by Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Mission. Several humanitarian projects were carried out during 24 years in Tbilisi, Gardabani and the village of Dzveli Kanda.

Humanitarian projects included provision of needy people (despite their confessional belonging) with groceries, clothes, footwear and hygiene means. The provision was one time as well as on regular basis. In 2004 container with clothes, footwear and hygiene means was received by Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Mission in Georgia from parishioners of churches of the Diocese of St. Peter in California. A great job was carried out by the local volunteers. The categories according to which the help was distributed were selected.

The representatives of different districts provided the list of needy people and later the volunteers were visiting these families, writing down the personal data of beneficiaries who were given help.

As a result of this great work the sets with provision were delivered to different districts of Tbilisi, Rustavi, Gardabani and the village of Dzveli Kanda. Totally 395 families (1.258.00 people) received the help.
