Летний лагерь в Орпири
12.09.2022 / article / #orpiri#events

After two years of the pandemic, this year, we once again,  had a great opportunity to travel to Orpiri  camp from July 31 to August 15. The camp was organized in two sessions, for children and youth (80 people in total from Tbilisi, Gardabani, Rustavi and village of Dzveli Kanda).

The time spent together was used for upbringing and educational purposes. The program prepared by teachers was very diverse, starting from excursions to attractions such as: Gelati Monastery, Bagrati Temple, Motsameta Monastery, Sataflia Nature Reserve, Botanical Garden in Kutaisi, Kobuleti resort ending with quizzes, educational games, various events, lectures as well as  seminars.

During our stay in Orpiri,  the director of the charitable foundation "Caritas Georgia", Mrs. Anahit  Mkhoyan, visited us at the invitation of our pastor, Chorbishop Benyamin Betyadgar. She introduced the youth to the spirit of "Caritas" work and also to the principles of humanity and charity that "Caritas" has been guided by since its foundation not only in Georgia, but also in 198 countries and regions of the world. The meeting was interesting and informative. We thank Mrs. Anahit for the time spent with our youth.

For many years, summer camp in Orpiri has been a great opportunity for several generations of our children and youth to get to know each other as well as to study their own personalities better. Children from an early age learn elementary rules of independent life, get used to think independently, express their own opinion, listen and respect others. Projects of this type are very useful for the unification of the local parish and for its future.

Taking this opportunity,we would like to thank the volunteers and parents who were directly involved in the organizational aspects of both sessions.
