Chorbishop Benyamin Beth Yadgar


Chorbishop Benyamin Beth Yadgar was born in the city of Urmia (Iran) on December 16, 1963. In 1982, he entered the Chaldean Theological Seminary in Tehran.


In 1986, due to the military conflict that erupted between Iran and Iraq, he was forced to leave the country. He continued his studies in Rome (Pontificia Università Urbaniana). Then in 1994, he was ordained a priest by His Excellency Mar Ibrahim N. Ibrahim Bishop Emeritus of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Diocese in Detroit (USA).


In May 1995, on the basis of written request of Assyrians and Chaldeans of Georgia, he arrived and established the Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Mission, of which he is still currently pastor of. In 2004, he began the construction of Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae Assyrian – Chaldean Catholic Church, the consecration of which was held on October 17, 2009.


On October 18, 2009 in Tbilisi, Fr. Benyamin was ordained Chorbishop by the late Holiness Mar Emmanuel III Delly the Chaldean Patriarch of Babylon.
