The Way of the Cross of Jesus Christ recreates the main moments of Savior suffering in the memory of believers. Prayers, in the unity with grieving Virgin, mentally accompany the Savior on Calvary, making 14 stations and thinking over his agony of the Cross, glorifying his infinite love and sacrifice for the salvation of mankind.
In Saint Martyr Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church all the icons are covered with black cloth after Great Thursday Liturgy. On Good Friday the Way of the Cross starts with praying and procession led by the priest. The Prayers, in Chaldean Rite are sung in front of each of 14 stations.
