BIBLE MEETINGS IN MAR SHEMMON BAR SABBAE ASSYRIAN-CHALDEAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

According to a goodwill tradition, which goes back to initial years of Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Mission foundation in Georgia (1995), bible meetings with the representatives of youth from Tbilisi and Gardabani are held in our Church every Saturday. The meetings are held by Chorbishop Benyamin Beth Yadgar in a very informal and friendly environment.

The participants of the meeting are not limited only by biblical texts analyzing, but also discuss vital and actual questions, that concern society, in a very courageous way. These discussions include such issues as: religion and present day, Christian virtues in modern world, where many ideologies, temptations and influences exist.

The meetings are held in the frame of lectures and seminars that is a very useful way for making a religious knowledge deeper and also for broadening the worldview. The representatives of youth feel free to express their opinions concerning religious questions as well as learn to respect other person's opinion, which is sometimes controversially different from his own. This, in its turn, teaches them to be more sensitive to each other as well as to the representatives of other religions and nationalities.
