150-TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF KOMITAS

On April 25, 2019 a concert dedicated to 150 th anniversary of the birth of the famous Armenian priest, composer, musicologist, folklorist, singer and choral conductor Komitas (Soghomon Soghomonian) was held in the Catholic Church of Saint Peter and Paul in Tbilisi with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia and the Roman Catholic Church in Georgia.

The Choir of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia "Makar Yekmalyan", the Choir of Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church, the Choir of Evangelical-Baptist Church in Georgia "Korali", lecturers and students of Tbilisi Vano Sarajishvili State Conservatory took part in the concert.

The concert was attended by the guests of honor: Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan, Head of Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, His Excellency Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, the Apostolic Administrator of the Roman Catholic Church in Transcaucasia, His Excellency Bishop Giuseppe Passotto.
