Chorbishop Benyamin Beth Yadgar was born in the city of Urmia (Iran) on December 16, 1963. In 1982, he entered the Chaldean Theological Seminary in Tehran. In 1986, due to the military conflict that erupted between Iran and Iraq, he was forced to leave the country. He continued his studies in Rome (Pontificia Universitata Urbaniana).

Then in 1994, he was ordained a priest by His Excellency Mar Ibrahim N. Ibrahim Bishop Emeritus of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Diocese in Detroit (USA). In May 1995, he arrived to Georgia and established the Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Mission.

Since then, our dear Abuna has been serving us, sharing with us our joy and sorrow, teaching us to live, believe, love, help the poor and whatever happens in our life, not to betray the Christian principals of mercy, justice and forgiveness.

Thank you, our dear Abuna, our Pastor, father, brother, friend and teacher for your sacrifice and devotion!
