Project of “Winter food baskets” to 100 families
01.02.2020 / article / #projects

Throughout the long history of Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church in Georgia many humanitarian projects such as food, hygiene, school supplies, clothing and shoes provision have been carried out. These projects were one-time as well multiple.

Due to the difficult situation in the country, the need to create this project arose. Unfortunately, it should be mentioned that economic situation in Georgia has sharply deteriorated in recent years and this fact affects the poorest and most vulnerable segments of the population such as pensioners, disabled people, large families and so on.

This project on necessary food and hygiene products provision is very large-scale and covers 100 families in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Gardabani and village of Dzveli Kanda. The project has already started and will last 4 months.

Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our sincere and boundless gratitude to the donors of this project, namely to our beloved father Manuel Boji, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Chaldean Catholic Church (Detroit–USA), Mr. Ron Boji and Mrs. Melody Boji, for once again responding to the needs of the people who are geographically so far away from them but who always are in their hearts, thoughts and deeds.

We also express our gratitude to His Excellency Mar Francis Y. Kalabat, Bishop of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Diocese (USA). This Diocese has been keeping responsibility for our well-being since the foundation of Mission and then after the consecration of Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church in Tbilisi.

We would also like to express the heartiest gratitude to our beloved Abuna Benyamin Beth-Yadgar as thanks to his care, sensitive and fatherly love to his people in Georgia our pain, hardships, difficulties are heard and satisfied.
