On October 17, the Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church of St. Martyr Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae in Tbilisi held a festive Liturgy dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the consecration of the Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church of St. Martyr Mar Shemmon Bar Sabbae, as well as the 12th anniversary of the ordination of our dear Chorbishop Benyamin Betyadgar as a Chorbishop.

The ordination ceremony of our dear Nugzar Sosiashvili to a deacon was also carried out. We congratulate him on this most important day in his life, a day that he and the whole community have been looking forward to. We wish him spiritual and physical strength for serving the people.

12 years seems to be a short time, but it is difficult to list how many useful things have been done over the years in the spiritual, humanitarian and educational spheres. In the future, we have many projects and initiatives, but today we can, with full confidence, say that the Church, as a center of religion, culture and education, plays a very important role in consolidating the community, educating the younger generation in the spirit of true Christian values, introducing people to their native culture and to the oldest religious traditions.

His Excellency Mar Thoma Meram Archbishop of Urmia, Bishop of Salmas and Patriarchal Administrator of Tehran arrived in Georgia from Iran to share these festive events with our community.

Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic many of the invited guests, our friends and donors, could not attend the festive Liturgy and share this joy with us, however, they will have the opportunity to follow this event online. We want to express our heartiest gratitude to you for your support: moral, spiritual, material. We have always felt your care and love.

Dear and beloved parishioners! Let me once again congratulate you on this kind, bright and so close to heart feast! Congratulations to all who have lived to see this day and we pray for those who bless us and our good beginnings from heaven!

Abuna, we express our deepest and heartiest gratitude to you for these difficult years, for your sacrifice and labors!
